This is the first entry in my new diary. I've heard that keeping a journal about your daily achievements and small "wins" is a good way to help fight depression. When you're in the depths of a depressive slump, it's difficult to see a way out. It's easy to focus on all the things you didn't do, all the tasks you haven't finish and every thing you didn't achive. Focusing on these failures inevitably pushes you deeper into your depression, and the deeper you are, the more your depression drains your strength and motivation. The more your depression drains your strength and motivation, the harder it becomes to get things done... the cycle feeds on it's self and gradually erodes your self worth. So, by starting this journal I hope that I can focus more on my achievements and accomplishments (no matter how small) instead of my failures (no matter how big). The hope is that I will start to view myself in a more positive light, I will be kinder and more forgiving towards myself too. Remember how far you've come, it won't always be easy and although you still have a long way to go, you're worth the investment. With time, effort and patience, you will improve ❤
Lots of love.
