In today's talk, Terry introduced how to become a multilingual learner. There are two main ideas expressed in his speech. First, the test scores or grades don't actually reflect your language speaking ability. To most of the international institutions, licenses of GEPT, TOFEL or etc won't prove your expertise toward language speaking, which can only be used to show your testing ability. Second, Immersion is a good way to learn a language. This method offers the learner an immersing surrounding of certain language, that can affect learners in different aspects. Learners can observe how that single language is used, the stress, idioms or speaking habits. Also, practicing is another important steps for language learners. Staying in such immersing surrounding offers learners an appropriate environment to practice with native speakers. In conclusion, the speaker describes "a good language learning process" as riding a bike. It should be a skill that once you learned, you'll never forget it. It's always better to acquire a language than to learn one.
